The Dutch NSB was founded on 14 dec 1931, and adopted as its party symbol the national arms of the Netherlands - a gilt lion on a orange/white/blue shield within a red/black triangle. The NSB had 25 districts, 17 departments, and 40 front/guilds. In 1940 the NSB established its own SS of 5 regiments and one police regiment within the NSB Party, the ranks of which were constantly depleted by voluntary enlistments in the German Waffen SS.
